Running Train, a train simulation game developed by Indonesian developer リズ from Novatetsu Games, offers players an immersive railroad experience. The game features highly realistic and detailed fictional Japanese train routes, including 42 routes on the Fukugawa Line and Sankai Main Line, covering about 40 kilometers of track [1].
The game entered Steam Early Access in May 2026 with two playable routes: the coastal Hayamori Railway and the rural Takafuku Railway [2]. Players can explore the routes either by manually driving the trains or by enabling an automatic driving mode. The game supports setting different weather conditions, hiding the user interface and speedometer to adjust difficulty and immersion, and allows free camera exploration along with a photo mode [1, 2].
Currently, the Steam Early Access version is priced at 99 yuan after a 10% discount from the original 110 yuan price. Though supported in English, the version does not yet include Chinese language support [2].
The developer plans to expand the game by adding multilingual support, a passenger viewpoint mode, and extending the existing routes. The full version of Running Train is slated for release in 2027 [2].
