Take-Two Interactive announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will be released globally on November 19, 2026. The confirmation came from CEO Strauss Zelnick during a surprise interview earlier this month, settling speculation following several postponements [1, 2].
The release date has been delayed twice. Originally, Rockstar planned to launch the game in fall 2025. This date was first pushed back in May 2024 to May 26, 2026. Then, in November 2024, the date moved again, this time to the current November 19, 2026 schedule [2].
Take-Two reported revenue of $6.7 billion in 2025. The company projects its 2026 revenue will exceed $8 billion, a figure boosted by anticipation for the GTA 6 launch [2].
During the interview, Zelnick offered career advice to young people, urging them to focus on the intersection of their skills and interests rather than simply chasing passion. "I think that’s terrible advice, half the time. People should chase the intersection of what they’re good at and what they lik[e]," he said [1, 2]. He also emphasized integrity, stating, "Never compromise your integrity. It’s the only thing you have" [2].
The GTA 6 launch is scheduled for November 19, 2026, marking the latest and final delay announced by Take-Two and Rockstar.
