The Blood of Dawnwalker, an open-world dark fantasy action RPG developed by Rebel Wolves and directed by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, is set to launch on September 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9].

At release, the game will offer three graphics performance modes on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X: Quality Mode targeting 30fps at dynamic 4K, Balanced Mode targeting 40fps at dynamic 4K, and a Performance Mode targeting 60fps at dynamic 4K. The 60fps Performance Mode will be delivered via a day-one patch, pending final stability tests [2, 3, 6, 7, 9].

The PS5 Pro model will feature enhanced visual quality across all three modes compared with the standard PS5 and Xbox Series X [1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9]. However, the Xbox Series S will be limited to a 30fps cap and won’t have access to the 40fps or 60fps modes [2, 3, 6, 9].

Initial official gameplay videos and developer announcements only showed the 30fps Quality Mode and 40fps Balanced Mode, causing disappointment among fans who feared no 60fps option would be available at launch [1, 2, 3, 7]. After hearing community feedback, Rebel Wolves confirmed on August 24 via social media (X) that the 60fps mode was in development and would be available the same day the game launches through a patch [2, 3, 6, 7, 9].

The developer explained, "Performance Mode was already in the works, but it was still being tested. We simply weren’t ready to promise it yet. We heard your feedback. It was clear how much this mattered to many of you, so we focused on finishing the next round of tests. Those results gave us the confidence we needed to confirm Performance Mode for Day 1" [3].

Despite the patch plan, players expressed significant disappointment that none of the console versions will run natively at 60fps on launch without the patch, including the PS5 Pro version which will initially cap at 40fps [1, 5, 8].

The Blood of Dawnwalker will be priced at 298 CNY in the Steam China region [8]. Players on consoles should expect the day-one patch enabling 60fps Performance Mode on September 3, with Xbox Series S users limited to 30fps at launch [1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9].
