A Chinese woman was arrested on May 16 for trespassing into a restricted security area at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 without a valid flight ticket or travel document [1, 2, 3].

The incident took place around 1:35 p.m. at the international departure Gate C in Terminal 1 [1, 2, 3]. The woman passed through the autogate security checkpoint without any valid ticket and showed aggressive behavior toward security personnel when they tried to inspect her. Assistant Commissioner M. Ravi said, "The suspect acted aggressively when security personnel attempted to conduct checks at the International Departure Gate C, Terminal 1 KLIA" [3]. He added, "The suspect was found passing through the security inspection autogate without a valid ticket and acted aggressively when approached by security personnel for inspection" [2].

Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad auxiliary police detained the suspect around 10 minutes later, at approximately 1:45 p.m. on the same day [1, 2, 3].

Initial investigations revealed that the woman entered Malaysia on April 30, 2026, for a holiday with a friend. However, she lacked sufficient funds to purchase a return ticket to China [1, 2, 3].

The woman was brought before the Sepang Magistrate's Court on May 17 and remanded for further investigations under Section 7 of the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act 1959 [1, 3]. This law carries penalties of a fine up to RM1,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both upon conviction [1, 2, 3].
