The deposits of RM5 million and RM3 million were made into 30 Maple’s CIMB Bank TTDI branch account, with the first deposit increasing the account balance from RM2,678,853.48 to RM7,678,853.48 before the second transaction [1, 2, 3, 4].
Azizan Hassan, testifying for the prosecution, detailed the transactions: "On Aug 21, 2018, there was a deposit of RM5 million from FashionValet Sdn Bhd with the transaction description, 'REMITTANCE CR/ROC/PB ECP PAYMENT FASHIONVALET SDN BHD PB ECP PAYMENT FASHION VALET SDN BHD ADVANCES TO 30 MAPLE'. I also confirm that the account balance before the deposit was RM2,678,853.48." He added, "On the same day, there was another deposit of RM3 million with a similar transaction description from FashionValet. I also confirm that the account balance before the RM3 million deposit was RM7,678,853.48" [2].
Further bank statements show that on September 3, 2018, 30 Maple made a withdrawal of RM10,213,537.28, alongside receiving an incoming transfer of RM5 million, followed the next day by a withdrawal of RM5 million described as 'Interim Dividend FADZARUDIN SHAH' [1, 2, 3, 4].
Vivy Sofinas Yusof and Datuk Fadzarudin Shah, who are married, act as directors and authorized signatories of 30 Maple’s CIMB bank account [1, 2, 3, 4]. The couple is on trial for criminal breach of trust related to the transfer of RM8 million, investment funds originating from Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Permodalan Nasional Berhad, which prosecutors say was made without board approval [1, 2, 3, 4].
The transfer occurred in August 2018, and they were charged in December 2024. The trial began on July 20, 2026, before Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Rosli Ahmad [1, 2, 3, 4]. Proceedings were temporarily paused due to the defense lawyer’s medical leave and are set to continue on July 27, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4].
