Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan plans to meet the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, this week to discuss federal allocations to the state. Amir Hamzah said the meeting aims to clarify the amounts and ensure all parties understand the funds provided. He added, "I don’t think there is a problem with this matter" [1, 2].

The appointment follows questions raised by the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, on May 8 during the opening meeting of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly. He questioned the federal government’s allocations to Pahang, prompting a response from the government [1, 2].

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim directed Amir Hamzah to provide a comprehensive explanation of the allocations for submission to the Tengku Mahkota [1, 2]. The federal government, Amir Hamzah said, commits to allocations based on needs and the Federal Constitution, striving to increase funding to Pahang from time to time, especially for development spending aligned with priorities [1, 2].

Amir Hamzah stressed that the audience with the Sultan is intended to clarify details and ensure mutual understanding among all stakeholders. The meeting is scheduled to take place this week following the announcement on May 17 [1, 2].
