A fuel tanker carrying 32,000 litres of diesel and petrol crashed into a car on Jalan Temerloh-Triang KM9 near Kampung Lebak at about 4:30 pm on August 14, 2026. The tanker, traveling from Seremban to Temerloh, lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, and collided with a car driving from Jerantut to Seremban. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash [1, 2, 3, 4].
Two occupants of the car died in the incident. They were identified as 39-year-old Nur Fatima Abdullah and her 12-year-old son Muhammad Fattah Aisy Naufal Saifulnizam. The victims were trapped and burned inside the vehicle. Their identities were confirmed by next-of-kin, though DNA testing is ongoing for formal verification [1, 2, 5, 4].
The tanker driver, a 37-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. He was remanded for four days to aid investigations under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous driving causing death, according to Temerloh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron. Post-mortem examinations for the victims were conducted at Sultan Ahmad Shah Hospital on August 15 following the crash [1, 2, 5]. Saifulnizam Sulaiman, the husband and father of the victims, described his concern after not receiving replies to messages and calls on the day of the crash. "I sent her a message at about 5pm, but there was no reply, and after finishing work at about 7pm, I saw that the message was still unread and my calls were also unanswered. That’s why when the message was not read for several hours, I felt that something bad had happened," he said [5].
