The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will establish five operations rooms across Johor to receive public complaints on corruption and abuse of power during the 16th Johor state election. These will run 24 hours daily starting from nomination day on June 27 until polling day on July 11, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4].

The operations rooms will be located at the MACC Johor office in Tampoi and branch offices in Batu Pahat, Kluang, Segamat, and Mersing [1, 2, 3, 4]. The public may submit reports through the official email [email protected], MACC said, urging transparency and professionalism in investigations [1, 2, 3, 4]. A MACC spokesman said, "Members of the public may also channel complaints regarding corruption and abuse of power through the operations room's official email address: [email protected]" [1]. Another MACC statement reassured that "all information received will be investigated professionally, transparently and in accordance with the law" [2].

MACC reminded all candidates and political parties contesting the Johor election not to violate the MACC Act 2009 or the Election Offences Act 1954 (Amendment 2012) [1, 2, 3]. The Election Commission has set June 27 as nomination day, July 7 for early voting, and July 11 for polling day [1, 2, 3].

Separately, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman ordered all officers to update their asset declarations within one month to strengthen internal integrity [5]. The new MACC leadership emphasizes five principles: uncompromising integrity, fair enforcement, prevention over punishment, use of technology and transparency, and building public confidence [5]. Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said, "In line with these principles, MACC will continue to act firmly, professionally and free from any political influence or vested interests, based on the MACC Act 2009 and the principle that 'nobody is above the law'" [5].

There are ongoing police investigations into a "corporate mafia" allegedly involving MACC officers and businessmen, but police say no concrete evidence links the commission so far [5].

The MACC operations rooms will cease 24/7 service after polling day on July 11, 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4].
