The Ministry of Transport (MOT) and Road Transport Department (JPJ) are aiming to complete the MyLesen B2 programme nationwide by July 2026, officials announced today in Batu Pahat [1, 2, 3].
The programme helps youths, particularly those facing financial challenges, obtain valid motorcycle licences through safe and structured licensing processes [1, 2, 3]. Transport Minister Anthony Loke said, "We hope it will help more youths comply with existing laws when driving or riding motorcycles" [1, 3].
A budget of RM10.5 million has been allocated for MyLesen B2 this year, benefiting more than 30,000 participants across Malaysia [1, 2, 3]. Alongside it, the MyLesen B2 Sekolah (MyB2S) programme works with the Ministry of Education to reach 60,000 students and has RM18.5 million in funding [1, 2, 3].
The MyB2S initiative enables students to obtain a Learner's Driving Licence (LDL) and receive staged motorcycle training and testing, beginning with practical lessons [1, 2, 3]. Johor recorded the highest number of student participants in MyB2S, with 8,000 enrolled [1, 2, 3].
Transport Minister Loke announced the funding and deadlines during a Youth Empowerment event at SJK(C) Yong Peng 1 in Batu Pahat today [1, 2, 3].
The programme seeks to promote safer riding habits and legal compliance among young motorcyclists nationwide. The government aims to meet the July 2026 completion target for MyLesen B2.
