Passenger vehicle sales expanded 7% to 68,900 units compared to 64,438 units in July 2025, supported by production growth which saw passenger vehicle output climb to 71,713 units from 67,375 units over the same period [1, 2, 3]. In contrast, commercial vehicle sales and production declined. Commercial vehicle sales decreased 16% to 4,715 units from 5,619 units in July 2025, while production fell to 3,777 units from 4,364 units [1, 2, 3].
The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) projects that automotive sales will maintain positive momentum into August 2026, driven by aggressive promotional campaigns [1, 2, 3].
