Malaysia's palm oil stockpiles rose by 3.32% or 84,495 tonnes in July 2026 to 2.63 million tonnes from 2.54 million tonnes in June, reflecting stronger output and overseas sales [1, 2, 3].

Crude palm oil (CPO) production grew 9.41% month-on-month to 1.79 million tonnes from 1.64 million tonnes in June [1, 2, 3]. This production increase contributed to the rise in overall stockpiles.

Exports of palm oil surged 14.5% to 1.39 million tonnes in July compared to June, supporting export demand despite growing inventories [1, 2, 3].

Within stock categories, crude palm oil stocks rose 7.24% or 96,495 tonnes to 1.43 million tonnes from 1.33 million tonnes, while processed palm oil stockpiles edged down 0.99% to 1.20 million tonnes from 1.21 million tonnes [2, 3].

Palm kernel output increased 10.69% month-on-month to 422,266 tonnes from 381,486 tonnes, with crude palm kernel oil production rising 14.55% to 199,392 tonnes from 174,071 tonnes [2, 3]. Palm kernel cake output also went up 10.11% to 215,304 tonnes from 195,534 tonnes.

Despite higher production, palm kernel oil exports fell 1.73% to 82,261 tonnes, and palm kernel cake exports declined 8.72% to 203,454 tonnes compared to June [2, 3].

Oleochemical exports grew 17.81% to 265,198 tonnes, while biodiesel exports surged 496.77% to 28,745 tonnes in July [2, 3].

Malaysia had zero crude palm oil imports in July 2026. Processed palm oil and palm oil imports declined sharply by 51.93% to 49,566 tonnes from 103,113 tonnes in June [2, 3]. Meanwhile, palm kernel oil imports nearly doubled, rising 93.12% to 11,545 tonnes [2, 3].

The July figures indicate a robust month for Malaysia's palm oil sector with rising production and exports alongside accumulating stockpiles. Further data releases will clarify supply-demand dynamics in coming months.
