Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) (MBI Selangor) has denied any involvement in organising, managing, owning, promoting, or operating the Bernam Maritime Industrial Park project and its launch ceremony, as recently circulated by Bernam Shipyard Holdings Sdn Bhd [1, 2]. The company stated it never granted approval or consent for the use of its name, logo, corporate identity, or branding materials in connection with the project or event [1, 2].

After conducting an initial check with Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB), MBI Selangor found no official confirmation linking either itself or MDSB to the project or the launch ceremony [1, 2]. MBI Selangor emphasized the serious nature of the unauthorized use of its branding in promotional and publicity materials related to the event, warning that such actions could cause confusion among stakeholders, investors, government agencies, business partners, and the public [2]. "The project, entity and launch ceremony are not connected to, supported by, affiliated with, or representing the company in any capacity," MBI Selangor said, adding that "any representation, statement, publication, promotional material or depiction suggesting that the project or launch event has any connection, support, endorsement or association with MBI Selangor is inaccurate, misleading and unauthorised" [2].

MBI Selangor urged all parties to immediately stop using its name, logo, branding, or any representation suggesting a relationship without proper written consent [1, 2]. The company reserved the right to take necessary action to protect its corporate identity, reputation, and legal interests over the unauthorized branding use [1, 2].

The public and stakeholders were advised to refer only to official announcements made through MBI Selangor’s official channels regarding the project [1, 2]. On May 19, 2026, MBI Selangor formally issued this statement denying involvement and unauthorized use of its name and branding related to the Bernam Maritime Industrial Park project and launch ceremony [1, 2].
