Negeri Sembilan has ordered 17 Pakatan Harapan state assemblymen, including six who lost their seats in the recent state election, and two constituency coordinators to return funds allocated for July to September within one month [1, 2, 3]. The demand follows the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly on June 5, 2026, after which these individuals no longer held any official functions [1, 2, 3].

The allocations were approved at a State Executive Council meeting on June 3 and credited to recipients' accounts on June 4, covering funds for service centres and community well-being [1, 2, 3]. Each assemblyman must return RM174,000, while each coordinator is required to refund RM150,000 [1, 2, 3].

Former executive council members, including former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, retained ex-officio status until July 31 and were allowed to use the allocations for that month. Datuk Ismail Lasim stated, "However, the Exco members at the time, including former Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, retained their ex-officio status until July 31 and were eligible to use the allocation for that month" [2].

While the total allocation for former exco members over the three months was RM225,000, they only need to return RM150,000 covering August and September [1, 2, 3].

The Menteri Besar's office will soon issue letters to all involved, formally demanding the return of these funds. "His office would issue letters demanding the return of the allocations to all those involved soon," Datuk Ismail Lasim said [1].

Additionally, the state government has agreed to appoint Rembau MIC division chief Datuk VS Mogan as Coordinating Officer for Indian Community Affairs with exco-member status, effective September 1, 2026. Datuk Ismail added, "The state government had agreed to appoint Rembau MIC division chief Datuk VS Mogan as the coordinating officer for Indian community affairs, with exco-member status, effective from Sept 1" [1].
