Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) will hold its national congress on August 15 and 16, 2026, at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, Melaka, expecting about 2,500 delegates and 3,000 observers to attend [1, 2, 3].

The congress theme is "Memugar Reformasi, Membina Madani," focusing on strengthening the spirit of reform as the party's foundation to maintain relevance amid current challenges [1, 2, 3]. PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officiate the opening ceremony on August 15 and deliver the policy speech [1, 2, 3]. Following the speech, 16 debaters representing the party’s wings and states will debate key issues on economy, education, and politics [1, 2, 3].

The day before, on August 14, PKR Youth (Angkatan Muda Keadilan) and Wanita Keadilan congresses will be held [1, 2, 3]. The congress aims to bolster members' commitment to integrity, social justice, supporting vulnerable groups, and fostering unity within the multiracial community. Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad, the national congress director, said the event "will serve as a platform to strengthen the commitment of party members in upholding integrity, championing social justice, supporting the underprivileged and vulnerable groups and strengthening unity within the multiracial community" [1].

Several foreign ambassadors, including representatives from the United States, China, Japan, and Australia, along with leaders of political parties, are expected to attend. Saifuddin said, "The congress is also expected to see the attendance of several foreign ambassadors, including representatives from the United States, China, Japan and Australia, as well as leaders of political parties" [2].

The congress will present the Bill Kayong Award to five families honoring those who have dedicated their lives to serving the party [1, 2, 3]. It will also work with government agencies such as the National Registration Department, Immigration Department, Royal Malaysia Police, and Registrar of Societies to provide direct services to attendees [1, 2, 3].

Alongside the event, the Melaka Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living will organise the Rahmah Mega Carnival for the public. "At the same time, the Melaka Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) will organise the Rahmah Mega Carnival for the public," Saifuddin added [2].
