The High Court has scheduled the trial of Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd and its directors to begin on January 4, 2027. The case involves an alleged offer of RM500,000 annually for 15 years to Tan Sri Annuar Musa related to the takeover of the Kuala Lumpur Tower concession [1, 2].
Judge Noor Ruwena Md Nurdin presided over the case management that set the trial dates and subsequent mention hearings [1, 2]. The trial is expected to last 20 days, with specific hearings planned for January 4-7, February 2-4, March 16-18, and multiple sessions in June throughout 2027 [1, 2].
The court set August 18, 2027, for a mention to submit documents and other case-related matters [1, 2].
Hydroshoppe director Abdul Hamid Shaikh Abdul Razak Shaikh, 52 at the time of charge, pleaded not guilty during proceedings. He was charged on April 5, 2023, for allegedly offering a bribe via Datuk Tan Ser Lay to then-Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa to expedite the Kuala Lumpur Tower concession takeover [1, 2].
The alleged bribery took place between July and August 2022 at the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia in Putrajaya [1, 2]. Abdul Hamid faces charges under Section 16(b)(B) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009, which carries penalties of up to 20 years imprisonment or a fine of five times the bribe amount or RM10,000, whichever is higher [1, 2].
Hydroshoppe is also charged as a commercial organisation under Section 17A(1)(a) of the MACC Act for jointly offering the bribe. The company faces fines of at least 10 times the bribe sum, RM1 million, or imprisonment up to 20 years, or both [1, 2].
The case was transferred from the Sessions Court to the High Court on May 26, 2026, before the trial dates were fixed [1, 2].
