The Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026 recorded 1.8 million visitors within its first three days, from August 28 to 30, at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Selangor [1, 2]. Nearly RM6 million in sales were generated during the same period, with purchases of plant and crop seeds expected to drive stronger sales toward the end of the event, organisers said [3, 1, 2].

About 184,000 vehicles entered and exited the exhibition grounds during these first days, contributing to heavy traffic congestion around MAHA’s venue. Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu noted the high turnout, stating, "Three days have passed, and visitor turnout for MAHA has reached 1.8 million, with 184,000 vehicles moving in and out. This means very heavy traffic in the area." [1]

To alleviate traffic and long queues at state pavilions, organisers have added shuttle services and hold daily management meetings to address transport and crowd concerns. Mohamad also said, "Earlier, I walked past the state pavilions and saw very long queues. We have informed the management to find ways to transport visitors quickly, especially given the current hot weather." [1]

MAHA 2026 features around 2,000 exhibitors showcasing agriculture, horticulture, and agrotourism products and innovations [1, 2]. The 10-day exhibition runs through September 6, targeting over 4 million total visitors and at least RM58 million in direct sales [3, 1, 2].

On August 30, the event hosted MAHA Merdeka celebrations, which included fireworks and drone shows to mark Malaysia’s National Day [1, 2].

Organisers also anticipate signing 121 memorandums of understanding worth RM8 billion in potential investments during the exhibition [3].

The event continues through September 6, with organisers focused on managing visitor flow and boosting sales as the exhibition proceeds.
