A Malaysian woman suffered serious injuries after falling while descending Mount Rinjani in West Nusa Tenggara. She was initially evacuated by porters and tour guides to the Pelawangan 2 area in Sembalun before official rescue personnel arrived [1, 2].
Indonesia's National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) deployed teams from the Kayangan rescue post and the Mataram SAR Office to the location on Monday, May 25. Due to thick fog and poor visibility, rescue operations involving air evacuation were delayed overnight [1, 2].
On Tuesday, May 26, at 8:17 a.m. local time, a helicopter operated by PT SGi Air Bali lifted off from Pelawangan 2 to airlift the injured hiker. The aircraft landed at Benoa helipad in Bali at 9:05 a.m. local time [1, 2].
"After evacuation preparations were completed, the victim was immediately transferred into the helicopter, which took off from Pelawangan 2 for Bali at 8.17 a.m. local time. The helicopter landed at the Benoa helipad in Bali at 9.05 a.m. local time, and the victim was referred to Inmedika Sanur Hospital in Bali for further medical treatment," said Muhamad Hariyadi, Head of the Mataram SAR Office [2].
