Barisan Nasional (BN) reaffirmed its commitment to continue serving in the Federal Government until the end of the current parliamentary term, Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said today [1, 2]. However, he emphasized that "differences in administration at the state level do not prevent good cooperation at the Federal level. This is a unique structure and reality of our country" [2]. BN views the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16) as a turning point to be addressed only when the time comes. For now, the coalition focuses on maintaining political stability at the federal level and fulfilling its government responsibilities diligently [1, 2, 3, 4].
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim echoed this stance during a speech at the 2026 PKR National Congress. He reaffirmed that PKR and BN, along with UMNO, will continue their cooperation at the federal level to ensure "political stability and the people’s welfare" [2, 3, 4].
