Johor’s state assembly was dissolved on June 1, 2026, followed by Negeri Sembilan’s on June 5. Both states are required to hold elections within 60 days of dissolution [1].

In the federal parliament, DAP supports tabling a bill beginning June 22 to separate the roles of Attorney-General and Public Prosecutor in the Dewan Rakyat sitting [1, 2]. Anthony Loke emphasized the importance of party unity, stating, "DAP is committed to ensuring the unanimous support of all 40 DAP Members of Parliament and calls on all MPs to ensure that the historic constitutional amendment can be realised" [1, 2].
