Four teenagers assaulted a 41-year-old female e-hailing driver near a forest area in Kuala Sungai Baru, Alor Gajah, Melaka on May 14, 2026, at around 12:30 a.m. [1, 2, 3] The suspects included two boys aged 15 and 17, and two girls aged 14; only one girl was still attending school. [1, 2, 3, 4]
According to Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar, one suspect asked the driver to stop the vehicle near the forest, claiming he wanted to look for someone and that they could not pay the online fare. [1] A few minutes later, three of the suspects attacked the driver using solid objects and strangled her from behind the seat, threatening her not to call for help. [1, 2]
The victim suffered multiple injuries including bruises, swelling, scratches on her neck, as well as wounds to her head, body, legs, and arms. [1, 2, 3] Despite the attack, she managed to escape by driving away, then filed a police report and sought medical treatment. [1, 2, 3]
Police arrested all four teenagers on the evening of May 14 and remanded them for investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous means. [1, 2, 3, 4]
On May 20, the four teenagers pleaded guilty to assault charges in the Magistrates Court in Alor Gajah.
