Febrie Adriansyah resigned from his position as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes on July 11, 2026, after police raided at least 12 locations linked to him in Bogor, South Jakarta, and other areas around Jakarta [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin accepted the resignation the same day [1, 2, 4, 5].

The raids occurred around July 8 and 9, 2026. Police seized 74 kilograms of gold bars and cash in several currencies valued at approximately US$20 million or more [1, 2, 3, 4, 6]. The largest haul came from Febrie’s private home in Sentul, Bogor, where authorities found the 74kg of gold bars, around US$4.77 million, and S$14.08 million in cash [1, 6, 4, 5]. Additional cash seizures included S$3.13 million and US$889,965 from a café in South Jakarta, and Rp7.2 billion from a money changer [4].

Jakarta police spokesperson Budi Hermanto confirmed the seizures, saying, "Police seized evidence that included 74 kilogrammes of gold bars and US$5.8 million and S$17.2 million in cash" [1]. The seized cash included Indonesian rupiah, US dollars, Singapore dollars, and Saudi riyals [2, 3, 4].

Febrie denied any wrongdoing, expressing confusion over the investigation. He was quoted saying, "I did not understand why I was investigated over blackouts," and added, "This morning, I still received orders to promptly finalise the handling of cases" [3, 4]. Police have questioned 15 witnesses so far, but no formal charges have been filed against him [1, 2, 3].

The investigation involves alleged corruption, money laundering, and bribery related to coal procurement for state power plants, as well as large-scale fraud at state insurance companies Jiwasraya and Asabri [1, 2, 3, 5]. Febrie had overseen several high-profile corruption probes, including those involving Gojek founder Nadiem Makarim, former trade minister Thomas Lembong, state energy firm Pertamina, and President Prabowo Subianto’s school meals programme [2, 3, 5].

Anang Supriatna, spokesman for the Attorney General's Office, said the resignation was "a form of commitment to maintain the integrity, objectivity, and neutrality of law enforcement" amid ongoing investigations [1].
