His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, will undergo follow-up treatment for musculoskeletal pain affecting his back and hip. Medical specialists have advised him to rest before the treatment to aid recovery [1, 2, 3, 4].
As a result, His Majesty did not attend the Warriors' Day Parade ceremony held on July 31, 2026, at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, Putrajaya [1, 2, 5, 6, 3, 4]. The event was attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, along with senior government and military officials including Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Defence Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chief of Defence Force General Malek Razak Sulaiman, and Inspector-General of Police Mohd Khalid Ismail [1, 2].
Despite his absence, King Sultan Ibrahim extended Warriors’ Day greetings and expressed his appreciation for members of the Malaysian Armed Forces and Royal Malaysia Police. In a message posted on his official Facebook page, he said, "Happy Warriors’ Day. Your services and sacrifices will always be etched in our memories. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala continue to protect all members of the security forces in every duty they undertake" [5, 6, 7, 4].
Warriors’ Day is observed annually in Malaysia to honour the sacrifices and contributions of security forces personnel [7, 4]. On the same day, a Sarawak-level celebration took place at Dataran Perayaan Petra Jaya, Kuching. The parade involved 460 personnel from the armed forces and police units and was attended by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar alongside other senior officials [8]. Six retired servicemen were awarded the Panglima Gagah Berani (PGB) medal for distinguished service during the event [8].
