The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed it has opened an investigation into alleged irregularities in the Felda Palong 7 oil palm development and replanting programme in Wilayah Raja Alias, Negeri Sembilan. The project has an estimated value of RM80 million and benefits about 450 Felda settlers [1, 2, 3, 4].

Concerns raised include issues with the quality, supply, delivery, storage, age, and compliance of the oil palm seedlings supplied under the programme. These concerns were brought to MACC’s attention by Pertubuhan Badan Bertindak Generasi Palong (Perbagi) chairman Mohd Syahrizal Md Yusuf, who submitted related information and documents [1, 2, 3, 4]. MACC is reviewing at least five documents, including formal complaints, supply agreements, and photographic evidence of the seedlings [3].

Felda Plantation Management Sdn Bhd (FPMSB) is responsible for managing the replanting programme. Felda has launched a comprehensive internal review covering governance, procurement, fieldwork, quality of planting materials, and operational management. Both Felda and FPMSB have pledged full cooperation with MACC’s investigation [5]. The Malaysian Palm Oil Board has also been instructed to examine the seedling quality issues [3].

The replanting programme involves converting rubber crops to oil palm plantations for the settlers, potentially affecting their long-term income. Complaints about the project were initially submitted around February or March 2026 to Felda headquarters and local management before MACC’s August probe [2, 5, 1, 4].

MACC stressed that receiving information does not imply any party has committed an offence or that any conclusions have been reached. “MACC takes note of the allegations and concerns raised and will examine the information to determine whether there are any elements that may be linked to offences under the jurisdiction of this agency,” the commission said [1, 2, 4]. MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman confirmed an investigation paper has been opened [2].

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged firm action to address weaknesses in Felda’s past management. He called for every identified problem to be rectified and governance strengthened. "Every weakness and problem identified must be rectified, with appropriate action taken to strengthen FELDA’s governance and management," he said [2, 5, 3, 4].
