A married couple, aged 26 and 27, were remanded for seven and five days respectively to assist in the investigation of the murder of Muhammad Zakir Fikry Mohd Zainal, a 20-year-old disabled man, in Bachok in April 2026 [1, 2].

Magistrate Fakhrul Razzi Abd Hamid issued the remand orders at the Magistrate’s Court in Kota Bharu under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder [1, 2]. The couple arrived at court around 8:45 a.m., wearing lock-up attire and handcuffed, escorted by police personnel [1, 2].

Two other male suspects, both 25 years old, had their remand extended for six days until May 20 as part of the same investigation [1, 2].

The victim, Muhammad Zakir Fikry Mohd Zainal, died from severe head injuries sustained during an assault on April 15. He passed away at 12:55 a.m. at Universiti Sains Malaysia Specialist Hospital in Kubang Kerian while receiving treatment [1, 2].
