Six Senior Kuala Lumpur Police Officers Reshuffled in Key Leadership Posts

Six senior police officers within the Kuala Lumpur police contingent were reshuffled in leadership roles, including heads of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Narcotics CID (NCID), and district police chiefs of Dang Wangi and Sentul, as well as the Special Branch deputy chief and CID deputy chief for Intelligence and Operations ^{[1, 2, 3]}.

Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Sazlee Adam was promoted from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) and appointed as Kuala Lumpur CID chief, replacing SAC Zulkarnain Samsudin who took over as Selangor CID chief. SAC Haslah Bachok handed over the NCID chief post to ACP Kee Hang Kee, while Superintendent Nuzulan Mohd Din succeeded Sazlee as Dang Wangi district police chief ^{[1, 2, 3]}.

Superintendent Jasni Zolpa replaced Basri Sagoni as Sentul district police chief. SAC Kamaruzaman Md Alib handed over duties as Special Branch deputy chief (Intelligence and Operations) to ACP Saefuddin @ Mohd Fitri Abdul Rahman. SAC Zulkarnain Samsudin passed on the CID deputy chief (Intelligence/Operations) role to Superintendent Ong Seng Keong ^{[2, 3]}.

The reshuffle involves six senior leadership posts, with five officers promoted from ACP to SAC rank in total ^{[1, 2, 3]}. The rank-pinning and handover ceremony took place on August 6, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters. Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus presided over the ceremony ^{[1, 2, 3]}.

Datuk Fadil said the promotions reflect recognition of the officers' performance and dedication, adding that the ceremony "also reflects the continuity of leadership within the police. Transfers are an important process to ensure the organisation continues to grow with fresh ideas, experience and approaches without affecting the continuity of service delivery to the public" ^[1].

He urged Kuala Lumpur police personnel to maintain a strong commitment to fighting crime, tackling drug abuse, improving investigation capabilities, enhancing operational readiness, and building stronger community ties amid complex security challenges ^{[2, 3]}.
