An 18-year-old male teenager was sentenced on June 24, 2026, to three years at Henry Gurney School after being found guilty of causing a fatal crash near Senawang/Matahari Heights, Seremban on March 6, 2025, that killed three teenagers aged between 15 and 17 [1, 2, 3].
The teenager pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and was also fined RM2,000 for driving without a licence under Section 26(1) of the same act [1, 2, 3]. The victims were identified as Muhammad Aidil Ramdan Abdullah, Muhammad Aswari Lotpi, and Aisar Azim Abdullah [1, 2, 3].
The crash occurred when the teenager failed to stop at a red light and collided with two motorcycles, causing the fatal injuries [1, 2, 3]. The court proceedings were held behind closed doors [1, 2].
The teenager’s parents were each ordered to pay RM2,000 in compensation to the victims’ families under Section 426A of the Criminal Procedure Code. In addition, the teenager’s mother was placed under a three-year good behaviour bond with a RM4,000 surety under Section 93(1) of the Child Act 2001 [1, 2, 3].
Deputy public prosecutor Noor Hafiza Ishak said, "However, the court decided to send the juvenile offender to Henry Gurney School as recommended by the JKM officer" [2]. The Social Welfare Department recommended placement at Henry Gurney School instead of a custodial prison sentence [1, 2, 3].
Defence lawyer Johan Radzi requested a delay in the placement due to his client’s deteriorating health, including unstable back and knee conditions that made standing difficult, but the court rejected the request [2, 3].
Family members of the victims expressed frustration with the sentence, saying, "The sentence could not restore what had been lost" [3].
After serving the three-year sentence, the teenager will be supervised by a probation, moral, and ethics officer for one year [1, 2, 3].
