Two elderly sisters aged 57 and 62 were killed in a hit-and-run incident at Jalan Pekan Baru, Bandar Baru Klang around 7:40 pm on May 15, 2026. Assistant Commissioner S. Vijaya Rao confirmed the driver fled after the collision. “The two female victims succumbed to severe head injuries and died at the scene, while another victim sustained minor injuries,” he said [1].
Police arrested a 75-year-old man at about 11:40 am on May 16 in connection with the incident. The suspect has no previous criminal or narcotics record and is detained for further investigation, Assistant Commissioner Rao added: "The suspect is currently being detained and will be remanded for further investigation. Authorities are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, Assistant Commissioner Rao said [4].
