Two men, aged 31 and 36, were arrested for performing dangerous wheelie stunts on high-powered motorcycles on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE) on May 9 around 11 a.m. The stunts involved lifting the front wheel while weaving through traffic as part of a moving motorcycle convoy traveling from the city centre towards Putrajaya [1, 2].

The suspects rode a red Ducati Hypermotard 950 and a black Ducati Panigale. "The dangerous stunt is believed to have been carried out by the two riders on Ducati motorcycles," said ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa. "They were travelling in a moving motorcycle convoy" [2].

Police seized one of the motorcycles believed to be involved in the incident. They arrested the two men at 6 a.m. on May 16 and brought them before the Kuala Lumpur magistrate's court. One-day remand orders were obtained to facilitate the investigation [1, 2].

Authorities are investigating the case under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous riding. ACP Mohd Zamzuri emphasised that the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department takes such dangerous behaviour seriously and will not compromise with those endangering public safety by violating traffic laws [1].

Police collected evidence including CCTV footage near the scene, statements from the suspects, and documentation of the motorcycles involved. "Among the actions taken by police were obtaining CCTV footage from the scene, recording statements from the suspects, documenting the motorcycles involved and applying for remand orders," ACP Mohd Zamzuri added [1].

The suspects remain in custody under remand orders as investigations continue.
