Several major roads in Malaysia's Sepang district will be closed and traffic diverted from August 16 to 19 to accommodate the 2026 Selangor Malaysia Games (Sukma) road cycling events. Closures will take place daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of Sepang district police [1, 2, 3].
A total of 142 cyclists will compete on the event routes, which are covered by 96 monitored locations divided into four zones: Zone A (Jalan Pantai Sepang Putra-Sempadan Tumbuk), Zone B (Jalan Dengkil-Jenderam Hulu), Zone C (Jalan Jenderam-Salak), and Zone D (Jalan Salak Sepang-Sungai Pelek) [1, 2, 3].
From August 16, 17, and 19, the affected roads include Persiaran Pantai Sepang Putra, Jalan Kampung Bagan Lalang, Jalan Bukit Bangkong-Tanjung Rhu, and Jalan Tumbuk-Sempadan. Additional closures on August 18 cover Jalan Banting-Semenyih towards Dengkil, Pekan Dengkil, Jalan Jenderam Hilir, Jalan Jenderam-Salak, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Jalan Pekan Salak-Lembah Paya, Jalan Sepang Lama, and Jalan Sungai Pelek [1, 2, 3].
ACP Norhizam Bahaman confirmed, "All roads involved will be closed in stages from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm." He urged, "The public, particularly residents in the surrounding areas and road users, are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid congestion." [1]
Police from Sepang district’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, supported by local authority and Selangor contingent officers, will be stationed at road junctions and traffic lights. They will patrol and monitor all impacted routes throughout the event period [1, 2, 3].
The 2026 Sukma Selangor Games officially began August 15 and will run through August 24. The Para SUKMA 2026 games will follow from September 5 to 14 [1, 2, 3].
