A 68-year-old man fell onto the track in front of an oncoming train at Segar LRT station at about 5 a.m. on May 18, 2026, and was pronounced dead at the scene [1, 2, 3].

Train services on the Bukit Panjang LRT line were suspended for several hours between Senja and Bukit Panjang stations due to the incident [1, 2, 3]. Police received a call for assistance at the station around 5:50 a.m. and investigations are ongoing; foul play is not suspected [1, 2, 3]. To allow safe police access, train services between Petir and Senja stations were temporarily suspended in both directions, while services between Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang stations continued [1, 2, 3].

SMRT activated free bridging and regular bus services to help commuters during the disruption [1, 2, 3]. The body was removed from the track by the Singapore Civil Defence Force and police at 9:10 a.m. [2].
