The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premium for Category A cars in Singapore closed at a new high of S$129,000 in the July 8, 2026 tender exercise, surpassing the previous level of S$123,847 from the prior exercise [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. This breaks the earlier record of S$128,105 set in October 2025 for the same category [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

Category B COE premiums, designated for larger and more powerful cars, rose 6% to S$130,889 from S$123,502 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The Open category (Category E), which primarily covers bigger cars but applies to any vehicles except motorcycles, increased slightly by 0.6% from S$129,002 to S$129,801 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

Commercial vehicle (Category C) COE premiums also set a new record, climbing 2.1% to S$95,000 from S$93,001 and surpassing the previous record of S$94,000 set in June 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Motorcycle (Category D) COE premiums reached S$10,201 from S$9,989, marking the third time in 2026 that premiums in this category have gone above five digits [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

Bidders competed fiercely, with a total of 4,950 bids received for 3,214 available COEs in the tender held on July 8 [1]. The high demand contributed to premiums rising across all vehicle categories.

The record-setting Category A premium surpasses the October 2025 peak by nearly S$900. The commercial vehicle category also continues its upward trend after breaking its record just a month prior in June 2026 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

The next COE bidding exercise is scheduled to be announced by the Land Transport Authority in the coming weeks, where premiums are expected to remain closely watched by buyers and industry watchers alike.
