Four companies and three persons were charged in Singapore courts on July 1 for false representation related to servers possibly containing Nvidia chips exported to Malaysia between November 2023 and February 2025 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The accused firms are Aperia International, A-Speed Infotech, Aperia Cloud Services (II)—together the Aperia Group—and Luxuriate Your Life [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

The individuals charged on July 1 are Jenny Lim, 51, chief financial officer; Aaron Woon Guo Jie, 41, head of sales; and Li Ming, 52, controller of Luxuriate Your Life [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Alan Wei Zhaolun, Aperia Group’s CEO, will face fraud and money laundering charges starting July 6 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

Authorities seized about S$56 million in assets linked to the case, including a Good Class Bungalow near Singapore's Botanic Gardens valued at approximately S$55 million and about S$1 million frozen in bank accounts [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Some sources value the mansion closer to S$42 million or US$42.5 million [6, 5].

The accused allegedly conspired to defraud suppliers Dell Technologies, Super Micro Computer, and ASUS by falsely representing that Aperia Group companies would be the end-users of servers sold to Malaysia [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Such false end-user claims occurred from November 2023 through February 2025 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].

Lim and Woon face charges for acquiring around S$1.2 million in their personal bank accounts, largely linked to criminal proceeds of about S$1 million [1, 2, 3, 4]. Li Ming is charged with fraud and fraudulent trading involving false claims about employment and server ownership and leasing [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Four others were charged with fraud and money laundering related to the scheme since February 2025 [5].

Singapore police stated the investigation relates to attempts to circumvent US export controls on high-performance Nvidia AI chips as part of a US probe into similar violations [1, 2, 3, 5]. Police underscored a zero-tolerance stance on offenses undermining Singapore’s reputation as a trusted global business hub [5].

Legal proceedings against all charged parties are ongoing. The CEO, Alan Wei Zhaolun, is scheduled to face court on July 6 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5].
