Olam Group posted a net profit of about S$1.9 billion for the first half ended June 30, 2026, up nearly sixfold from S$323.8 million in the same period last year [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. The dramatic jump was chiefly due to a one-off gain estimated between S$1.75 billion and S$1.8 billion from selling a 44.58% stake in its agribusiness arm Olam Agri and the IT services business Mindsprint [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The group also recognized an accounting gain from the revaluation of its remaining stake in Olam Agri [2, 3, 4, 5].

Excluding these gains, the core profit from continuing operations in the remaining businesses, including the food ingredients unit ofi, fell about 66%, declining to S$55.6 million from S$163.7 million a year ago [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. Revenue dropped about 18.3% to S$12.5 billion from S$15.3 billion due mainly to lower input prices and volumes in ofi [2, 3, 4, 5]. Despite weaker operating profit, earnings per share rose to approximately S$0.5023 from S$0.0816 last year because of the one-off divestment gains [2, 3].

The group declared a total dividend of S$0.07 per share for the half-year, comprising a 1-cent interim and a 6-cent special dividend, up from just two cents a year earlier [1, 2, 3, 6, 7]. Net gearing improved significantly, declining to 0.93 times from 2.09 times previously [2, 3].

Olam confirmed it secured regulatory approvals from 21 jurisdictions by April 2026 to complete the US$1.8 billion sale of its Olam Agri stake, first announced in February 2025 [2, 3]. CEO Gautam Wadhwa said the group's reorganization aimed "to unlock value for shareholders from divestments" and noted the sale of other businesses was progressing. He added, "We remain focused on delivering a resilient operational performance as we continue to work on responsibly divesting and monetising these assets over time." [2]

Group CFO Venkataraman Krishnan said Olam's internal focus would concentrate "purely on ofi and OGH (formerly known as the remaining Olam Group), which are essentially the continuing businesses." [6]

Following the earnings release on August 14, 2026, Olam shares fell between 7.7% and 8.5% during trading [4, 5]. The group is scheduled to pay the declared dividends on August 31, 2026 [2, 3].
