The SG Culture Pass added over 1,100 new Singaporean literary titles on May 19, 2026, bringing the total eligible SingLit titles to more than 2,600 available through 15 participating bookstores and 46 outlets islandwide [1, 2]. Six new bookstores joined the scheme: Basheer Graphic Books, Book Point at Bras Basah Complex, Littered with Books, Nurul Anwar Bookstore, TCZ Studio, and The Zall Bookstore [1, 2].
Eligible titles must be authored by Singapore citizens or permanent residents at the time of publishing, and can be in English, Chinese, Malay, or Tamil [1, 2]. The scheme covers genres including poetry, drama, short essays, fiction, comics, and graphic novels [1, 2].
Launched on September 1, 2025, the SG Culture Pass is a cultural credits scheme aimed at supporting local arts and heritage. It provides $100 credits to each eligible Singaporean aged 18 and above, with a total budget of $300 million allocated for three million Singaporeans [1]. The credits are valid until the end of 2028 [1].
Apart from books, credits can also be used for plays, concerts, workshops, exhibitions, and films under the scheme [1]. Authors may join the SG Culture Pass through publishers or distributors applying on the official website [1, 2].
The inclusion of local literary works under the SG Culture Pass began in March 2026 [2]. Upcoming events where credits can be spent include the Asian Festival Of Children's Content Book Fair from May 21 to 24, the Singapore Children's Book Festival from June 19 to 21, and the Books And Games Festival from June 27 to 28 [2].
Library pop-ups are planned between July and October 2026 at Punggol, Tampines, and Bishan libraries to further promote access to local literature [2].
