Thirteen men aged between 21 and 39 were arrested in Singapore during islandwide raids targeting secret society activities on May 22 and May 23, 2026. The operations were carried out by the Secret Societies Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department with support from four police divisions [1, 2].
The police checked nearly 100 people and about 35 public entertainment, nightlife, and food and beverage outlets during the two-day operation [1, 2]. Authorities continue to investigate the 13 men, who remain suspects in the cases related to illegal secret societies [1, 2].
If found guilty of membership in illegal secret societies, each suspect faces up to three years in jail, a fine as high as S$10,000, or both [1, 2]. The police emphasized ongoing enforcement efforts, stating they will continue regular operations at public entertainment and nightlife venues and other popular gathering spots throughout Singapore to crack down on secret society activities [1, 2].
Officials also urged the public to avoid involvement with secret societies and to report any illegal activities to the authorities immediately [1, 2].
On June 4, the police issued a public statement confirming the arrests and ongoing investigations related to the raids [1, 2].
