Singapore actress Rebecca Lim gave birth to a baby girl last week weighing 3.6kg via natural birth at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital after a 12-hour labor, sources reported [1, 2]. The newborn stayed in the hospital for medical checks and was discharged around May 13, coming home a few days ago [1, 2].
Lim, 39, is married to 39-year-old Singaporean Matthew Webster. The couple already has a two-year-old son [1, 2]. Lim described the first week after the baby's birth as challenging due to the transition for her son becoming an older brother. "The first day our second baby was born, he was a bit apprehensive. He didn't really know what was going on," she said [1].
"The transition from one kid to two has been quite challenging, and my baby girl only came home a few days ago (May 13) as she had to stay in the hospital for some medical check-ups," Lim added [1]. She also shared she focused on spending time with her son during the early days, saying, "I tried to think of it from a different point of view. Perhaps I could go home to spend a few more nights with just my son. That was the mindset that I was taking, as opposed to only worrying about my daughter" [1].
The baby's estimated due date was about two weeks before the actual birth, and Lim's husband was overseas during labor but returned to Singapore three hours before the delivery [2].
The baby girl is Rebecca Lim's second child, joining their two-year-old son. The family is now adjusting to life with their newest member after the newborn's discharge earlier this month [1].
