Foo Siang Wee, 34, was sentenced on May 12, 2026, to 18 months and 49 days’ jail after pleading guilty to charges including cheating, criminal breach of trust, and illegally selling his Singpass account [1, 2].
Foo repeatedly scammed victims by listing fake Rolex watches on Carousell. Notably, in February 2025 he posted a listing for a Rolex Submariner "Half Gold" watch priced at $10,000, from which he manipulated two victims into paying $4,000 and $8,000 before cutting off contact [1, 2].
Between January and February 2025, Foo stole over $29,000 from his workplace, a Koufu food court outlet in Toa Payoh’s HDB Hub [1, 2]. He later gambled away all the stolen money [1, 2].
In November 2023, Foo also sold access to his Singpass account by handing over his details through a Telegram advertisement, expecting to receive $400 to $500, but he never got paid [1, 2].
Authorities arrested Foo on March 24, 2025 [1, 2]. The court described him as a serial offender with a criminal record since 2016, including a 2021 conviction for a similar Rolex scam involving $7,000, and a 2018 scheme involving fake Marina Bay Sands hotel packages [1, 2]. Deputy Public Prosecutor Nivethaa Ravintharan said, "Foo is a serial offender who has been committing property and cheating offences since 2016" [1].
The court considered ordering compensation for recent victims but declined due to Foo’s continued refusal to take responsibility and the fact that he had gambled away his ill-gotten gains [1, 2].
