Bergs said his strategy in the final set focused on exploiting Humbert’s errors and targeting the sidelines, which helped seal the victory [2, 3].
This was Bergs' third ATP final, after losing his previous two. His win made him the first Belgian to win an ATP Tour title on grass in the Open Era [2, 3]. Humbert was aiming for his eighth ATP title but fell short in the final.
During the trophy presentation, Bergs said, "The results are not there, we keep focusing on improving. And that's why we're here today, standing with the trophy" [2].
