IKEA and Xbox revealed the YXSTABY gaming furniture collection at Gamescom 2026 in Germany this August, debuting nine pieces designed to blend Xbox aesthetics with IKEA's home style [1, 2, 3].

The collection includes a gaming lounge chair, controller display boxes, TV stands on castors, a side table, D-pad cushions, a platter, and thumbstick stools modeled after Xbox controller components. The thumbstick stools use original Xbox controller 3D files, tilt as the user leans, and come in green and black colors [1, 2, 3]. IKEA designer David Wahl said, "The thumbstick stool even 'tilts with you while you play'" [3].

Xbox head of design Carl Ledbetter emphasized designing "the entire gaming experience at home, from the screen to the space around it," noting the importance of the environment alongside hardware [1]. IKEA’s product design developer Philip Dilé explained the collaboration grew from a desire to understand gaming life better: "We know a lot about life at home, but we wanted to specifically understand how you design for gamers" [2].

IKEA’s existing 2024 Brännboll collection influenced the design ethos, and talks between Xbox and IKEA teams began at Milan Design Week 2024 [2].

Prices range from £12 to £115 in the UK and $18 to $180 in the US, with the thumbstick stool priced at £35 and $50 respectively [1, 3]. The collection will go on sale in the US starting September 30, 2026, and in the UK in October 2026 via IKEA stores and online [1, 3].
