LEGO has released the LEGO Icons Arcade Pinball Machine, a new buildable working pinball machine set, featuring a space theme and detailed mechanical parts. The set contains either 2,273 or 2,274 pieces, depending on the source, and includes dual flippers, a spring-powered ball launcher, spinning bumpers, and a ramp to replicate a real pinball experience [1, 2].
The finished model measures roughly 15 inches long and 11 inches wide. It also features a back screen that stands 9.5 inches tall, adding to its display appeal [1]. The set comes with two minifigures: an astronaut and a baby astronaut, enhancing its playful space motif [2].
The LEGO Icons Arcade Pinball Machine retails for approximately $230. It was initially available to LEGO Insiders starting July 1, 2023, before opening for general sales on July 4, 2023 [1, 2].
While the pinball machine does not include LEGO's Smart Brick technology, which could have added more interactivity, it offers functional mechanical features typical of a traditional pinball machine. Some reviewers have noted the set may have limited replayability when played repeatedly but praised it as a striking display piece for adult collectors and brick enthusiasts [2].
This release fits into LEGO's ongoing trend of adult-targeted retro-style builds. Earlier sets in this category include the Pac-Man arcade machine and the Minifigure Vending Machine, reflecting LEGO’s focus on nostalgia and mechanical complexity for mature audiences [1].
