LG revealed the UltraGear 25G590B as the world’s first gaming monitor to achieve a native 1000Hz refresh rate at Full HD (1920x1080) resolution [1, 2, 3]. The 24.5-inch IPS panel targets esports and competitive gamers seeking ultra-smooth motion and responsiveness [1, 2, 3].
Previously, 1000Hz refresh rates were only possible by Samsung and Acer by lowering resolution to 720p or running at 1440p resolution with a 500Hz refresh rate [1, 3]. LG’s model does not require switching resolution or dual-mode operation to reach 1000Hz at Full HD, making it the first to combine top refresh and standard competitive resolution natively [1, 2, 3].
The UltraGear 25G590B also features artificial intelligence enhancements. It supports AI Scene Optimization, which adjusts picture settings automatically, and AI Sound that provides spatial audio tailored for gaming environments [2, 3]. These features aim to improve both visual clarity and immersion.
LG has not disclosed pricing or exact availability yet but said it will launch the monitor in select markets in the second half of 2026 [1, 2].
Prototypes of 1000Hz gaming monitors were first shown in May 2024, making LG the first to commercialize one for the Full HD market almost two years later [1]. The UltraGear 25G590B positions itself as a cutting-edge display for highly competitive gamers who demand extreme refresh rates without compromise on resolution.
The monitor is expected to release between July and December 2026 in limited regions, details pending from LG [1, 2].
