Joe Burrow said on June 17 that the Cincinnati Bengals have the most talented roster since he joined the team and predicted they will win a Super Bowl this season [1, 2]. "I think this is the most talented roster that we've had since I've been here," Burrow said, adding, "We're gonna go win a lot of games this year, and play great, and win a Super Bowl" [1].
The Bengals finished last season with a disappointing 6-11 record and missed the playoffs for the third straight year [1, 2]. Their defense struggled, allowing the third-most points per game in the NFL at 28.9 last season [2].
To address those weaknesses, the Bengals made key offseason additions. They signed safety Bryan Cook, added pass-rusher Boye Mafe and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, and acquired defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence in a trade [1, 2]. Burrow credited the front office for responding to criticism with their free agency moves. "The front office has taken a lot of heat from the fans, the public, the media. We can put all of that behind us. They went and made it happen with free agency," he said [2].
Burrow also praised the locker room atmosphere. "The energy is elevated right now. We have some veteran guys that can come in and show the younger guys on defense what it takes, what it means to be great every day," he said [2]. He added, "We have everything we need in that locker room. We just have to go make it happen" [2].
Burrow’s confidence in the Bengals comes ahead of the 2026 NFL season, which will start in the coming months. The team aims to improve on last year's struggles and compete for the league title.
