Odell Beckham Jr. secured a place on the New York Giants' 53-man roster for the 2026 NFL season following his performance in training camp and preseason games. The 33-year-old wide receiver, wearing No. 13, was congratulated by Giants head coach John Harbaugh after a strong final preseason outing [1].
Harbaugh praised Beckham's progress, saying, "Yes, he has done enough to make an NFL roster, for sure. He's played well. He's gotten better as camp's gone along. He deserves credit for that. He's done a really good job with it." [2]
Beckham originally entered the NFL in 2014 as the No. 12 overall pick out of LSU. He last appeared in a regular season game in December 2024 with the Miami Dolphins before being waived [2]. He missed the entire 2025 season after receiving a six-game suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy and did not appear in any games that year [2].
Despite the hiatus, former NFL star Chad Ochocinco expressed confidence in Beckham's abilities, saying, "A healthy Odell... that can still take the top off a defense? That Odell? I don’t need him to be the Odell of old... Even at 33, Odell is still better than most of the receivers in the NFL." [1]
Beckham said making the roster "would mean everything to me... I feel like I gave everything I've had. Super grateful for the opportunity... I feel like there is ball to be played, plays to be made. Right now, I'm just truly grateful for that opportunity and experience." [2]
The Giants' wide receiver room will include Beckham and Malik Nabers, who is recovering from a September 2025 ACL injury. Nabers reported on August 31 that he felt "pretty good... still listening to the trainers, still listening to doctors and sharing everything with them." He also praised Beckham’s leadership during camp [3].
The Giants open their 2026 season at home on September 13 against the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday Night Football, with Beckham and Nabers listed among the 53 players on the roster [2].
