Johnson, 28, tested positive for a banned substance found in fertility medication he was taking after an infertility diagnosis. "I was not aware that there was a substance in the medication that was on the banned list," Johnson said, explaining the positive test was linked to the fertility drug he took while trying to conceive with his wife [1, 2].
Johnson revealed that he and his wife lost their baby a few weeks before the suspension announcement. "We lost our baby a few weeks ago, and this has been an incredibly difficult time for my wife and me," he said. The couple still has nine viable eggs and hope to grow their family [1, 2, 3].
