Anker announced the launch of its Soundcore Liberty 5 Pro and Liberty 5 Pro Max earbuds on June 20, now available for purchase in the US. Both models feature the new Thus AI audio chip designed to improve noise cancellation and voice clarity during calls and audio playback [1].
The Thus chip uses eight microphones paired with two bone conduction sensors that separate the user's voice from background noise. This setup allows calls to sound clearer even in moderately quiet settings, where bone conduction sensors capture the user’s voice at lower volumes [2]. Adaptive ANC 4.0 noise cancellation in both earbuds is up to twice as effective as the previous Liberty 4 Pro model [2].
Battery life with active noise cancellation turned on reaches up to 6.5 hours. Including the charging case, total playback time extends to 28 hours for both earbuds [1, 2]. The Liberty 5 Pro measures a 0.96-inch touchscreen on the outside of its charging case, larger than before. The Pro Max has a bigger 1.78-inch AMOLED display on its case, which can record conversations and meetings. The Soundcore app generates AI transcripts and highlights action items from those recordings [1].
Both earbuds support 20 built-in voice commands to control playback, adjust noise cancellation, and manage volume. Anker claims these commands respond in under one second thanks to the Thus chip [1, 2]. They also include Apple Find My network support and IP55 dust and water resistance ratings [1, 2]. The HearID 5.0 feature provides personalized EQ settings following a hearing test. Combined with AI Sound Enhancement, it recovers up to 65% of audio lost to Bluetooth compression [2].
The Liberty 5 Pro is priced at $169.99, while the Pro Max costs $229.99 [1]. Both earbuds became available for purchase on June 20 [1].
