Apple is developing a redesigned entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro expected to launch in the first half of 2027. The new model will feature a design aligned with the company's upcoming higher-end touchscreen MacBooks and is internally codenamed K104 [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. In addition to the MacBook update, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro models slated for release in spring 2027. The last iPad Pro refresh came in October 2025, featuring the M5 chip [1, 3].
Before these 2027 releases, Apple completed work months ago on a MacBook Pro update using the M6 chip. That update retains the current design and is scheduled for release this year in 2026 [1, 6].
The company updated its base MacBook Pro with the M5 chip in October 2026 and the iPad Pro last received an upgrade with the M5 chip in October 2025 [1, 3].
