AT&T introduced a new $3 Unlimited Day Pass that gives iPad users 24 hours of unlimited cellular data without requiring contracts, subscriptions, or credit checks. The service launched on August 31, 2026, across the US [1, 2].
The day pass is available to anyone, including non-AT&T customers, on eligible eSIM-enabled iPads dating back to 2019, such as iPad, iPad Mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro models. Users activate the pass through the iPad’s Settings app, with the data period starting shortly after purchase and without the need for Wi-Fi or any additional apps [1, 2].
AT&T is offering the first Unlimited Day Pass free as an introductory promotion, limited to one free pass per iPad customer. While data usage is unlimited for 24 hours, AT&T may temporarily slow speeds if the network is busy [1, 2].
Josh Goodell, AT&T’s consumer product head, said, "Our goal with any product is to make it simple for people to connect wherever they are, across the devices they use most. There is no long-term commitment — just the connectivity you need, when and where you need it" [1].
Looking ahead, AT&T plans to expand the Unlimited Day Pass to other 5G-enabled devices including Android tablets, smartwatches, laptops, and drones. The company also intends to offer multi-day passes for weekends and week-long use in the near future [1, 2].
