Xfinity Shield also provides a range of cybersecurity tools such as malware and phishing protection, parental controls, and device management for families [1, 3]. Comcast has refined the Wi-Fi Motion algorithms over the past three years to improve accuracy and reduce early sensing irregularities. Although Wi-Fi Motion is free, Comcast warns that enabling it may lead to information generated by the feature being disclosed to third parties, including law enforcement, without further notice to customers. The Xfinity support page states, "Comcast may disclose information generated by your Wi-Fi Motion to third parties without further notice to you in connection with any law enforcement investigation or proceeding, any dispute to which Comcast is a party, or pursuant to a court order or subpoena" [2].
