Meta Platforms unveiled a new line of AI smart glasses called Meta Glasses starting at $299, about $80 less than its previous Ray-Ban Meta entry-level model [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. The glasses mark Meta's first smart glasses released under its own brand without Ray-Ban or Oakley labels, although they are produced in partnership with EssilorLuxottica [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]. Together, Meta and EssilorLuxottica hold over 80% of the smart glasses market, with Meta alone accounting for 69.2% market share [2, 3, 4, 7].
The Meta Glasses lineup includes three models: Meta Adventurer, Meta Fury, and a $399 version in collaboration with Kylie Jenner called Meta Glasses by Kylie [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]. These glasses do not feature a display screen but integrate a camera, personal speakers, and voice support for Meta’s AI assistant. The AI handles tasks like live translation, information queries, pedestrian navigation, and photo/video capture [2, 3, 5, 6, 7]. The AI system is powered by the Muse Spark model, enhancing real-time environment understanding and multimodal capabilities [4, 6, 7].
Battery life exceeds 8 hours on a single charge, with an optional charging case extending usage up to 40 hours. Meta also introduced a $59 standalone charging stand accessory, releasing June 25 [3, 8]. The smart glasses support live translation expanding to 14 new languages, including Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, and Korean [3, 5, 6].
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasized the challenge of balancing style and function, saying, "I think there's going to be a spectrum both of styles and different amounts of functionality and different price points. But the challenge is that each one you need to hit the sweet spot of making it good-looking and comfortable to wear and delivering on the functionality." He added, "The future is going to be these different wearable platforms that I think merge with fashion," and "It needs to be something that you're proud to wear and it needs to be comfortable" [9]. Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth noted the importance of affordable pricing to broaden consumer reach and offer more choices to users [7].
Meta Glasses are available for purchase starting June 23-24, 2026 through Meta’s website and select retail partners such as Amazon, Best Buy, LensCrafters, and Sunglass Hut in multiple countries [3, 5, 6].
