Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 12, also known as the Surface Pro for Business 13-inch 12th Edition, featuring Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors for business users, available starting today in the US [1, 2]. The base model of the Surface Pro 12 starts at $1,949.99, equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 13-inch PixelSense LCD display [1, 2]. Higher-end versions offer Core Ultra 7 processors, up to 64GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, OLED screen options, and 5G connectivity, with prices reaching as high as $4,399.99 [1].
The Surface Pro 12 retains the same physical design as its predecessor, the Surface Pro 11. It includes two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, Surface Connect charging, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a 1440p front camera, and a 10MP rear camera capable of 4K video recording [1].
Alongside the Surface Pro 12, Microsoft launched the Surface Laptop 8, which comes in 13.8-inch and 15-inch sizes under the Surface Laptop for Business 8th Edition name, as well as a new 13-inch model called Surface Laptop for Business 1st Edition. Microsoft introduced a unique integrated privacy screen option for the Surface Laptop, featuring anti-glare technology combined with a novel haptic feedback system to enhance user interactions—a first for Surface devices [2].
Microsoft claims some Surface models deliver up to 35 percent higher graphics performance than the MacBook Air with the M5 chip. The company also estimates battery life up to 23 hours on the Surface Laptop and up to 17 hours on the Surface Pro 12 [2].
